Welcome back to the Wolf Report!! I know I haven't been blogging as often, life has Me quite busy these days. But where do I start on this whole Galaxy Series Release more namely the Air Foamposite 1 Galaxy Edition. WTF was that?!?! Ok, let's talk numbers off the bat shall we?! With a supposed 1000-1400 pair run, this shoe quickly became the Hype of the Year only falling second place to the coveted Air Yeezy 2. Concords? Weak! That release as it seems was nothing compared to the #'s of Sneaker Fans and Hyped out Reselleres that came out. Below is a picture of the alleyway where BLENDS Los Angeles held their raffle. I'd say a good 350-400 people were in attendance. Seems the theme stayed true at every store no matter where it was. As soon as the Foams were done being raffled or sold it was easy to notice more than half of the crowd leaving everytime. The Kobe, LeBron, and KD weren't as sought after by the masses as the Foams yet sold out as well. The most unbelievable part of this release was the number of people that showed up to the Nike Vault at Staples Center here in Los Angeles. Jesucristo!!

So I'm at the house waiting on the 11PM hour to arrive after a long day at work when I get a call from New Era King and Grummis. 1000+ People N.E.King says to me at 10:38PM!! At that point I switched my thinking from "Yeah I'll go down and see if I win" to "I have to witness this shit for myself!!". 1000 count was putting it lightly. By the time the 11-12Midnight hour rolled around I'd say there was easily 1800-2000 People in attendance. Line wrapping clear around the Figueroa side of Staples Center. This is crazy!! Not even the Concords or Space Jams or Yeezy 1'a brought out this much Thirst! The day before Nike announcing they wouldn't be selling them on Nike.Com made it all that much more interesting to people that didn't even want them at all. Make something Limited, it's a must have! The masses follow the masses. Individuality is dead for the majority of Sneaker Fans. For some this whole release was exciting and competative, for others it was the last straw. Having had a few conversations with some majors in the sneaker industry in the last few days, the theme was the same, Dissapointing!!
Sneaker Nation TV Galaxy Foams Recap from Sneaker NationTV on Vimeo.
I noticed a trend that has been slowly developing in Los Angeles. Line Ups are on the way to being extinct! With stores like Nike Santa Monica starting long ago on the"Keeping It Fair" Campaign, lots of major stores are following suit. Seems the usual line up groups are being phased out slowly which is upsetting since I just hired the Home Depot Crew to camp out for Yeezy 2's! By the way, the lines in LA have started for the Yeezy 2's! Good Luck to all. But it looks like luck will be all you need at most stores. Sneaker spots such as Sheikh, Footaction, Footlocker, Finishline all located at the Westfield Shopping Center in Culver City with influence from mall security have now started taking list names and numbers for Midnight releases. This clearly makes it harder for reseller groups to dominate lines with intimidation. Bout 99.9% of people that complain in these lines won't do a damn thing anyway. These people talk shit about others cutting, but I've hardly ever seen anyone do anything about it. Some people figure that if the line up brings extra people last minute everytime which fucks over the people that have been patiently actually there waiting, why not walk up to the front and get in where you fit in right?! Most store Managers stay far and clear from regulating the lines. Perfect example: HOH Beverly Center!! Everytime someone is brave enough to speak up and report cutters to the Management, they look the other way not caring to properly investigate and deal with the problem. Footlocker upper management needs to organize and get in touch with what's really happening out in these line ups. These days will be gone sooner or later. One day "Shit just got real" will be coming out of peoples mouths. Just about the only thing left to worry about at these releases is getting jacked on the way to your car as local opportunists have noticed the value and craze over a lot of these kicks. There's a resseller and follower born every minute. AND after all that, restocks hit most major cities that had the initial batch.
Last but not least, let Me share My opinion on the Galaxy Foamposite. What is that? A Pewter Foam with Shrink Wrap on it? Glue lines looking like the retirement line at the Horse Track, rickety. The GID (Glow In The Dark) technology is weak on this shoe compared to some other kicks like let's say the Manny Pac Lights Out Trainer or the Yeezy 1. I'm a huge fan of GID Tech on sneakers. Thanks to SneakDaRipper310 I had a chance to snap a few shots of this crazed shoe. All in all, sheer amazement was had on my part as this whole eventful release went by. Stay Tuned for the next installment of my opinions and snapshots of random kicks and things! - WOLF
